Amid rising unemployment and limited job opportunities, a growing number of young Indians are looking to start their own businesses. However, the lack of initial capital often becomes the biggest hurdle in turning entrepreneurial ideas into reality. To address this challenge, the Madhya Pradesh government has introduced a supportive initiative called the Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana, aimed at helping aspiring entrepreneurs become self-reliant.

Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries can avail of business loans ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹10,00,000, along with subsidies, interest benefits, and free training. The program is designed to encourage self-employment, promote small businesses, and create new job opportunities within the state.

What Is Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana?

The Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana (MSY) is a flagship self-employment scheme of the Madhya Pradesh government, launched on 1 August 2014. The objective of the scheme is to support residents of the state who wish to start small businesses, service units, or self-employment ventures but lack sufficient financial resources.

Through this scheme, the government partners with banks to provide affordable loans, margin money assistance, interest subsidies, credit guarantees, and skill-based training. Applicants are also given a flexible repayment period ranging from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 7 years, making repayment manageable for first-time entrepreneurs.
