Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
Indian Railways is going to launch the country's first Vande Bharat Sleeper Express next week, which will completely change the experience of long distance night travels. The most special thing about this train is that passengers will get only confirmed tickets in it. That means neither the hassle of RAC nor the tension of waiting list. If you get the ticket, you will get the full berth, if not, the ticket will not be booked.
Till now most of the long distance trains used to have RAC meaning. Two passengers used to travel on one berth, but this rule will not be applicable in Vande Bharat Sleeper. According to the Railway Board, as soon as the booking opens, only as many berths are available will be sold. With this, passengers will clearly know whether their seat is confirmed or not.
Vande Bharat sleeper fare has been kept slightly higher than normal trains. Railways has fixed the charge for a minimum distance of 400 kilometres, even if you travel a distance less than that. The fare for traveling in 3AC has been fixed at around Rs 2.40 per kilometre. The fare for 2AC will be Rs 3.10 per kilometer and for 1AC will be Rs 3.80 per kilometer. Apart from this, GST will be levied separately on AC class.
This sleeper train will start from Howrah-Guwahati route. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag it off. This train will complete the journey in about three hours less time than the existing express trains. This will be an overnight train, which will run at night and will take the passengers to their destination in the morning.
Vande Bharat Sleeper has been designed for special comfort and safety. It has better padded berth, automatic doors, low noise suspension, modern driver cabin and aerodynamic body. Armor system, emergency talk-back facility and modern sanitation technology will also be present for security. Overall, this train is a better option for those passengers who want comfort, time saving and traveling without any seat sharing.
