Singer and actor Teyana Taylor delivered one of the most powerful moments of the Golden Globe Awards 2026 with an emotional acceptance speech that quickly went viral. After winning ‘Best Female Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture’, Taylor took the stage and gave a heartfelt tribute to Brown sisters and young Brown girls watching around the world. Declaring that 'our softness is not a liability', she spoke about strength, grace, and self-worth, drawing loud applause from the audience. Taylor thanked her family, cast, and crew before using her moment to send a strong message. Taylor won her first-ever Golden Globe for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. She received the award for Best Supporting Actress, making her the first winner of the night. The prize was presented by Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Garner. According to USA TODAY, One Battle After Another, which was released in September, earned $206.1 million at the global box office and went on to win Best Picture at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.

When Taylor’s name was announced, she broke down in tears and struggled to hold back her emotions as she rushed to the stage. At the Beverly Hilton, during the ceremony hosted by Nikki Glaser, she gave an emotional acceptance speech.

“I almost didn’t even write a speech,” the 35-year-old told the crowd before giving a heartfelt shout-out to her children, Junie Tayla, 10, and Rue Rose, 5. "Oh my babies, my babies are upstairs watching. Y’all better be off their damn phones and watching me right now."

“To my Brown sisters and little Brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability," she said

“Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter, and our dreams deserve space,” Teyana added.
