Iranian women: Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai brought attention to Iran’s deteriorating women’s and girls’ rights on Tuesday, stating that they had long been excluded from all facets of public life.

Yousafzai said that the limitations extend far beyond the classroom and include a variety of spectrums.

“The protests in Iran cannot be separated from the long-standing, state-imposed restrictions on girls’ and women’s autonomy, in all aspects of public life, including education,” she said in a post on X. Like females everywhere, Iranian girls want to live dignified lives.

The Iranian demonstrations are inextricably linked to the state’s long-standing limitations on women’s and girls’ autonomy in all spheres of public life, including education. Like girls everywhere, Iranian girls want to live with dignity.Iranians have long warned about this tyranny, but their voices have been muted for decades despite the high personal danger involved. These limitations are part of a larger system of gendered control that restricts freedom, choice, and safety far outside of the classroom and is formed by monitoring, punishment, and segregation,” she said.

According to Yousafzai, Iranian women must be free from outside influences in order to exercise their freedom to choose their political destiny. They insist on having their opinions acknowledged and having the authority to choose their own political path. The Iranian people, not foreign powers or repressive governments, must steer that future and include Iranian women and girls in leadership roles. I support the Iranian people and females in their demand for dignity and independence. “They should be able to choose their own destiny,” she said.

“Thousands have been killed and injured, but see how Iranians, flooding the streets of different cities in Iran, are chanting against the dictator,” Iranian journalist and activist Masih Alinejad said in reference to the regime’s alleged crackdown on the protesters. This is an example of true courage.

Large-scale protests with people screaming pro-Iranian chants and waving flags were recorded in many regions, including Azerbaijan province and the central city of Arak, according to Press TV. Following days of unrest amid skyrocketing inflation, economic hardship, and popular outrage over governance, there have been protests and counter-demonstrations.

The Human Rights News Agency said on Monday that at least 544 people have died and that over 10,681 people have been detained and sent to jails.

While highlighting that negotiation is still his preferred first course of action, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday (local time) that US President Donald Trump is still keeping “all options on the table” in his dealings with Iran, including military force.
