Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the ‘Uttarayani Kautik Fair’ organized by Kumaon Cultural Upliftment Forum Khatima in the Seed Corporation premises on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has announced to build Parvatiya Vikas Bhawan in the district. Many stalwarts including the regional MLA were present in the program.
While addressing the Uttarayani Kautik Fair, the Chief Minister announced that Parvatiya Vikas Bhawan will be built in the district, for this he instructed the District Magistrate to identify the land. He said that financial assistance will be given by keeping this Uttarayani fair in the calendar and on the request of the committee, he also announced the construction of a stage.
The Chief Minister said that we all celebrate Makar Sankranti to commemorate the Uttarayan of the Sun. In our culture, Sun God is called the king of the planets, hence this holy festival of Makar Sankranti is also considered to be the day of a king going to the house of his subjects. He said that the festival of Uttarayani is not just a festival, but a celebration of our culture, our faith and our philosophy of life.
He said that at this time Surya Narayan brings the message of new energy, new hope and new beginning in our lives. I am happy that our new generation is connecting with its roots through events like Uttarayani Kauthik.
The Chief Minister said that under the successful leadership and visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today India is not only touching new heights of development but is also re-establishing the pride of Sanatan culture in the entire world. Taking inspiration from his mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”, our state government is working day and night to make Devbhoomi Uttarakhand an ideal model of development.
