There are continuous allegations regarding 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) of the voter list in Uttar Pradesh. Names of a large number of voters have been deleted from the draft list. Along with this, due to mismatch in mapping, notice has been issued to them. Most allegations of irregularities have been made in Noida assembly constituency. The names of the dead are included in the draft list released by the Election Commission, while the names of the living have been deleted.
Samajwadi Party On the instructions of Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Metropolitan President Dr. Ashray Gupta has issued helpline number 9810735584 in Noida Assembly constituency. Any voter can express his/her problem on this number.
On the other hand, the Election Commission has started Book-a-Call with BLO facility for voters. Any voter can register his request on the Election Commission's app or portal. Within 48 hours of the request being lodged, the concerned BLO will assist the voter over phone.
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that BJP wants to manipulate the voter list through the SIR process. He said that BJP is again engaged in creating fake votes and is trying to defame the democratic system.
He said that to form the Samajwadi Party government in 2027, party workers should unite, go door to door and contact people and tell them about the party's policies and programs.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the SIR being done for the voter list is actually NRC (National Register of Citizens). The work which was done by the Home Ministry is being done by the BJP government through the Election Commission.
He said that even after SIR, many shortcomings are coming to light in the voter list. The Chief Minister himself has admitted that four crore votes are being removed. BJP is trying to manipulate the voter list. There is a huge difference in the figures of the Central and State Election Commissions regarding the voter list.
He said that according to the Central Election Commission, there are 12.56 crore voters in the voter list, whereas in the State Election Commission voter list, 12.69 crore voters are shown in rural areas alone. If the number of urban voters is added to this figure, the total number of voters becomes more than 17 crores. How can it be that the number of voters varies, when the same BLO (Booth Level Officer) and other officers and employees are responsible for preparing the voter list?
