Ranchi police: After 13 days of stress and anxiety, two Ranchi youngsters who had been abducted were freed on Wednesday morning.
The youngsters, Ansh and Anshika, were rescued from Chitarpur in Ramgarh after going missing from Dhurwa.
Two suspects in the abduction were taken into custody by the police. They are both from Bihar’s Aurangabad.
A reward of Rs 4 lakh had previously been offered by the police for information that resulted in the children’s safe return.
The youngsters were successfully located and rescued by a special Ranchi Police squad.
Police officers were praised by Chief Minister Hemant Soren for their prompt and efficient response.
Soren said in a post on X that the Jharkhand Police’s dedication and effectiveness was shown by the successful operation. “Strict action will be taken against those involved in such crimes,” he said, expressing joy that the youngsters were discovered uninjured.
“The kidnappers have released two innocent lives from their grasp. How could someone become so low? For me, the last several days have been very unsettling. Although there wasn’t a breakthrough at first, it’s admirable how Ranchi Police linked the dots to a similar occurrence in another state, found the offenders, and saved the kids, Soren wrote.
He said that steps would be made to disband the criminal group and that a comprehensive inquiry will be carried out on comparable instances both within and outside the state.
DGP Tadasha Mishra praised the police team’s bravery and effectiveness in an interview with Ranchi’s media. She also said that rewards will be given to all of the officers and staff that participated in the operation.
This act may be a part of a larger interstate people trafficking conspiracy, according to police.
The DGP promised that the whole network will be revealed during the continuing inquiry and noted that additional individuals may become engaged.
Under the direction of SSP Rakesh Ranjan and with special oversight from CID ADG Manoj Kaushik, the rescue was executed as part of “Operation Masoom.”
In order to identify more syndicate members, police are actively questioning those who have been detained.
Ranchi Police conducted a thorough search after the youngsters vanished from Shalimar Market on January 2.
Their photos appeared on posters that were hung across the city and on buses and trains.
Additionally, police used WhatsApp status updates to appeal to the public. The addresses of hundreds of cars that had been in Shalimar Market on the day of the abduction were physically confirmed.
To get real-time information, three cell numbers were made public, including the father of the children and the DSP of Hatia.
On January 2, seven-year-old Ansh Kumar and his six-year-old sister Anshika Kumari vanished while visiting a store close to their home.
