MCA Central Contracts: Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has taken big steps to strengthen Mumbai cricket. Many major decisions were taken in the Apex Council meeting held on Wednesday, in which issues like Dilip Vengsarkar Inter-College Tournament, Central Contracts and T20 Scouting League were discussed. The decision to start central contracts for senior team players is being considered quite historic. This step is considered very important considering the future of the players.
In the Apex Council meeting of the Mumbai Cricket Association, the decision was taken to start central contracts for the players of the senior team. According to media reports, Indian team players and players playing in IPL will not be included in these contracts. This means that these contracts will be mainly for emerging and senior players who are active in domestic cricket, so that they get stability and can focus on the game without any financial worries.
MCA said in a press release, 'For the long-term development of the players, the Apex Council has approved Central Contracts for the players, which will work to provide support and financial security to the emerging talent.' Apart from this, the Apex Council has taken another big decision. The inter-college tournament will be named after former Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar.
Apart from this, MCA has also announced to organize a dedicated T20 scouting tournament. This tournament will pave a good way to identify young talents and take them to the elite level on the basis of merit. Especially the focus will be on improving the players for the T20 format, so that the future of Mumbai remains bright. MCA President Ajinkya Naik said, 'These decisions are important towards strengthening the young generation while maintaining the rich tradition of Mumbai cricket. This effort of MCA will not only strengthen domestic cricket but will also further strengthen the presence of Mumbai players at the national and international level.
