If you travel by train daily or frequently, this news is very important for you.  Indian Railways, keeping passenger convenience in mind, has launched a mobile app that makes ticket booking easier and cheaper than ever before. This app is called the RailOne app. The special feature is that booking general (unreserved) tickets through this app now offers direct discounts and cashback benefits. The railway's objective is to relieve passengers from long queues at ticket counters, promote digital payments, and provide all railway services on a single platform. The RailOne app has been developed as a unified digital platform in this direction.

What is the RailOne app?

The RailOne app was launched on July 1st. This app brings together several different railway services in one place. Through it, you can book unreserved (general) tickets, view the real-time location of trains, order food, and contact customer support. This means you will no longer need to download separate apps for different railway-related tasks.

How much discount will you get and for how long?

The railway has launched a special limited-time discount scheme for those who book tickets through the RailOne app. You will get up to a 3 percent discount on payments made through digital payment methods (UPI, debit card, credit card, net banking), and a direct 6 percent discount on payments made through the railway's R-Wallet. This offer will be valid from January 14, 2026, to July 14, 2026. Please note that this discount is only applicable to unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app. If you use BHIM UPI while booking your ticket, you will also receive cashback of up to ₹20 from the railway. Easy way to book tickets with the RailOne app:

1. Download the RailOne app on your mobile phone.

2. Open the app and sign in or create a new account.

3. Verify your mobile number via OTP.

4. Fill in basic information such as your name and contact details.

5. Now select the unreserved ticket booking option.

6. Enter your travel date, source station, and destination station.

7. Choose a digital payment method or R-Wallet for payment.

8. Check the fare before confirming.

9. Complete the booking and save your ticket. The ticket will be generated in the app as soon as the payment is processed. You can show this ticket on your phone during your journey for ticket checks.
