Train Cancellation News: This is important news for train travelers at the beginning of the year. If you are planning to travel by train through Haryana, please check the updates first. Train operations on this route will be affected in the coming days. The railways have decided to halt some trains due to essential track-related work. According to the information, infrastructure upgrade work will be carried out on the busy Amritsar-Jalandhar City rail section in Punjab.

The old girders of bridge number 28 located in Jalandhar City yard will be removed, and new slabs will be installed. Due to this, a traffic and OHE (Overhead Equipment) block will be implemented from January 28th to 31st. During this block, several trains passing through Haryana will be cancelled, and some will be partially affected, which may cause inconvenience to passengers.

These Trains Have Been Cancelled

Northern Railway is going to remove the girders of the old bridge and install new slabs in the Jalandhar City yard. To complete this upgrade safely, the railway is taking a block in two phases. The first block will be on the down line on January 28th and 29th from 9:30 PM to 9:30 AM. The second block will be on the up line on January 30th and 31st from 10:30 PM to 10:30 AM.

During these blocks, the movement of several trains will have to be stopped, which may affect passengers' travel plans. Therefore, train number 14680 Amritsar-Delhi Intercity Express and train number 14679 Delhi-Amritsar Intercity Express will remain cancelled on January 29th and 31st. On January 31, train number 12054/53 Amritsar–Haridwar Express and the Jalandhar–Firozpur Passenger train will also not be running.

These trains have had their routes diverted.

Due to bridge construction and track upgrade work, the railways have decided to divert several long-distance trains. Train number Tata–Jammu Tawi Express will no longer run on its scheduled route via Jalandhar City, Beas, and Amritsar. This train will now operate via Jalandhar Cantt, Mukerian, and Pathankot to manage traffic during the construction work. Similarly, train number 22430 Pathankot–Delhi Express and train number 11906 Hoshiarpur–Agra Cantt Express will also run on diverted routes.

Due to the closure of the OHE (Overhead Equipment) lines during the block, the railways have also made changes to the power system. More than 10 trains, including major trains like the Amritsar–New Delhi Shatabdi Express, Paschim Express, and Golden Temple Mail, will be operated with diesel engines between Ludhiana or Phagwara and Amritsar.
