The holy festival of Scorpio Sankranti will be celebrated with devotion and faith across the country on November 16, 2025. This Sankranti, which starts with the entry of Sun God from Libra to Scorpio, is not only considered very important from the astrological point of view, but according to mythological beliefs, this day is considered a special occasion of energy, penance, offering to ancestors and charity. Right from the morning, a huge crowd of devotees gather at different pilgrimage sites, rivers and sun temples of the country. Devotees take a holy bath and offer prayers to the Sun God and pray for the happiness and prosperity of the family.
According to religious beliefs, Scorpio Sankranti is the auspicious time when Sun God enters the native place of his son Shani Dev, which is considered a special combination of ancestral grace and removal of planetary defects. For this reason, in many parts of the country, people also offer tarpan to their ancestors and on this day people donate sesame seeds, jaggery, clothes and food grains. Astrologers say that donations made on this Sankranti are a hundred times more fruitful than on normal days.

According to religious belief, there were differences from time to time between Surya Dev and Shani Dev. The native place of Shani Dev is considered to be Scorpio. It is said that when Sun God enters this zodiac sign, he appears to his son Shani.
