New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS) Criticising AAP leaders’ alleged attempts to create friction between Hindus and Sikhs, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said on Saturday that the forensic laboratory report on the Delhi Assembly recording of “indecent” remarks made by AAP leader Atishi against Sikh Gurus has conclusively established her offence.

Sachdeva condemned the statement of Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, which appears to be a deliberate attempt to incite Hindu–Sikh riots.

The Delhi BJP chief stated that Bharadwaj’s remark is extremely dangerous and, in some way, reflects that the AAP leadership, seeing its political ground slipping in Punjab, could attempt to incite riots and disturb social harmony.

Addressing reporters, Sachdeva reiterated that the inquiry report related to January 6 remarks of Atishi presented by Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta is completely valid, as it is based on the examination of the original Assembly recording, leaving no room for doubt.

He stated that on Friday in Amritsar, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee also passed a resolution against Atishi and announced action against her. There is widespread resentment against her among the Sikh community across Delhi, Punjab, and the rest of the country, he said.

The BJP leader said that the entire nation is asking one question today: Where has Arvind Kejriwal hidden Atishi since the morning of January 7, and why is she not coming forward to apologise for her offence and bring this controversy to a close?

Delhi BJP demands that the Speaker initiate constitutional and legal action against Atishi and suspend her from the House.

Delhi BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that the entire political journey of the AAP has been based on lies and deception, and even today, they are lying to hide their leader’s offence.

Kapoor said that earlier, at the behest of Kejriwal, Atishi insulted the revered Sikh Gurus by mentioning dogs during a discussion in the Delhi Assembly on the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Now, ever since the Delhi Assembly Speaker presented the forensic report of Atishi’s video recording, AAP leaders are trying to hide their offence by spreading confusion.

The Delhi BJP spokesperson stated that AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sanjay Singh, Priyanka Kakkar and Anurag Dhanda have been holding separate press conferences and spreading the misconception that even the inquiry conducted by the Speaker did not mention the word “Guru,” whereas in reality the inquiry has established that Atishi used both the words — “dogs” and “Gurus.”

Kapoor said that fearing political losses in Punjab, AAP leaders have been talking about Hindu–Sikh riots, but they will not succeed in their objective because Hindu–Sikh unity has existed for centuries and will continue in the future as well.
