AAP minister warns Congress and BJP against playing with Sikh sentiments through fake videos

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly condemned the attempts by BJP and Congress leaders to mislead the public by raising doubts on the orders issued by the court on the basis of forensic report in the case to the doctored video of AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.

AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, while replying to the questions raised by Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar on the forensic report of Punjab Police, said that the issue has now gone beyond political disagreement and amounts to a direct challenge to court orders.

Arora clarified that the Hon’ble Court, after examining the forensic reports submitted by the State Forensic Science Laboratory, has clearly stated that the video that went viral was tampered with and no objectionable words were present in the original audio. Based on this conclusion, the court had ordered the video to be removed and blocked on social media platforms.

Aman Arora said that questioning the forensic results placed before the court is not questioning any political party or government. This is to question the court’s decision. Once the court has delivered its verdict, denying its outcome is not politics but defamation of the rule of law.

Responding to the misinformation being spread on social media, AAP Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the facts in the court cannot be changed by repeating the false story. He said the court examined the forensic evidence and recorded its result. That judicial finding is on record. No political interpretation can overrule the forensic report accepted by the court.

Responding to the statement of Congress leader Pargat Singh, Bhullar said that it is extremely irresponsible to drag religious sentiments into the controversy on the basis of morphed content. He said that the Sikh community deserves truth and honesty, not fake clips for political gains. Using the revered name of Guru Sahiban to defend fake material is actually hurting Sikh sentiments.

AAP leaders advised Pargat Singh and Sunil Jakhar that democratic responsibility demands that judicial institutions be respected and court decisions accepted, regardless of political expediency.
