Teething Pain: When a baby's teeth start to erupt, this time is quite challenging for both the child and the parents. The itching, swelling, and pain in the gums make the baby irritable, and also negatively affect their sleep and appetite. Babies often wake up frequently at night, which can be very distressing for parents. If you are also going through this phase with your child, then this information is for you. Today, we are going to tell you about 4 things you can do to help alleviate your little one's discomfort. This information was shared by renowned pediatrician Dr. Ravi Malik in a video on his Instagram handle. Let's find out...

1. Massage the Gums
When the baby is in discomfort, parents can gently massage the gums with a clean finger. This provides comfort to the baby and gives them a soothing feeling. Doing this often reduces crying because the massage provides them with temporary relief and relaxation.

2. Massage with a Muslin Cloth
Instead of a finger, you can also use a muslin cloth. To do this, soak a muslin cloth in cold water and then gently massage the baby's gums. This will make the baby feel comfortable.

3. Teethers
To provide relief from pain and irritability, you can also give your child teethers. Dr. Ravi explains that when babies chew on them, they get relief from the pain and feel a sense of comfort.

4. Fruit Puree
To provide relief from the pain, parents can also give their children fruit puree. Fruit puree is not only easy to swallow, but its slightly cool temperature has a soothing effect on the gums. This provides children with temporary relief from swelling and pain. In addition, fruits are rich in nutrients, which are beneficial for the baby's health.
