After SIR in Bengal, the date of publication of the final voter list may be postponed again. The hearing was to end on 7 February and the final list was likely to be published on 14 February, but the Election Commission believes that the list will not be published till 14 February. Due to this, the date of publication of the list may be postponed, but the Election Commission has not yet given any statement as to when the final list will be published.

Supreme Court It has been ordered that the Election Commission will have to publish the list of irregularities in the special intensive revision process of the voter list. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court issued 10-point guidelines in this regard.

The Supreme Court says that the list related to logical errors will have to be published. In case of villages, the list will have to be published in Panchayat Bhawan, Block Office and in case of urban areas, in Ward Office. It should be displayed in such a way that common people can see it. Along with this, documents or objections can be submitted in the Panchayat or Block office.

Election Commission's work increased due to Supreme Court order

The Supreme Court says that those who may be affected can submit documents or objections through their authorized representatives. BLO This may be representative. However, there must be a signed permission letter for this. Extra 10 days time will be given from the date of publication of the list in Panchayat or Block office.

The Supreme Court said that the State Police DG, Superintendent of Police and District Magistrate of every district will have to see that there is no law and order problem in this process.

It is not possible to complete the hearing within the current time limit.

After the order of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission and State Election Commission will have to appoint a lot of staff. Hearing has to be done properly. Every District Magistrate will have to follow the instructions of the Commission and the State by deploying necessary staff and security forces, if necessary.

Voters will be given an opportunity to submit documents or objections. Secondary Admit Card can be submitted as an alternative document, the officer receiving the documents or conducting the hearing will have to confirm the case.

The date of final voter list has been postponed earlier also

According to commission officials, it is not possible to conduct hearing in this time period. If at least five to six lakh rupees have to be heard, then it is practically impossible. In such a situation, publication of the final list is not possible on time.

However, it is not yet known when this list will be released. By the way, it is also worth noting that the SIR process was postponed earlier also. The Election Commission has postponed the date of publication of the draft voter list and the final voter list.

Earlier it was said that the final voter list will be published on February 7, 2026. In the new announcement, the entire process has been postponed for seven days. Then it was decided that the final list would be published on 14 February. However, this time the date is expected to be extended further.
