A major update on the future of one of Wales' most prominent holiday park operators has been issued following its administration last year. Celtic Holiday Parks, which operated luxury sites across south Pembrokeshire, announced it had entered administration in June, with joint administrators Alistair Wardell and Richard Lewis of Grant Thornton UK appointed on May 27.

In a statement at the time, they confirmed that Noble Court Holiday Park in Narberth and Meadow House Holiday Park in Amroth, under the Celtic Holiday Parks brand, would remain open and continue trading as normal during the administration process. However, in an update on January 14, it was announced that the trio of parks had been sold to individual operators. Savills, acting on behalf of the joint administrators, announced that each site had been acquired for prices ranging between £3.2 million and £10 million.

Meadow House, which has been acquired by Hall Bros Leisure for £10 million, currently has 187 static holiday caravans or twin-unit lodges on its 16-acre park. Noble Court, meanwhile, has been acquired by Threesix Holdings for £ 3.2 million and accommodates a mix of 173 privately owned and luxury-hire fleet holiday caravans, lodges and glamping units, with the site extending over 50 acres.

Croft Country Park, which has been acquired by Henson Leisure Group for £3.5 million, currently has 124 static holiday caravans. Of these, 75 are privately owned. Planning permission exists for a further nine pitches to be developed behind the Stables, with the site extending 13 acres.

Richard Prestwich, director in the leisure and trading team at Savills, said: "The group attracted exceptional interest thanks to its prime location and the strong reputation of the business.

"With over 100 parties expressing interest - demonstrating strong demand for these types of assets - Savills conducted an informal tender process to ensure a fair and competitive outcome. This approach successfully identified the winning bidders and culminated in the sale of all three parks."

Celtic Holiday Parks was established in 2003 by managing director Huw Pendleton as a family-run venture. The parks have earned awards, including luxury accommodation provider of the year - south Wales and recognition as among the best caravan and camping parks in Pembrokeshire.

Over the past two decades, the company had invested approximately £6 million into expanding and upgrading its sites. It also weathered the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with support from a six-figure HSBC loan in 2020.
