Women beneficiaries in Odisha have received an important financial update today. Under the state government’s flagship Subhadra Yojana, eligible women are now getting the latest installment directly into their bank accounts. The payment process officially resumed on January 22, 2026, bringing relief to lakhs of women who were waiting for the funds.
Originally scheduled for January 18, the transfer was postponed due to administrative reasons. With the revised timeline now in action, the Odisha government has started crediting ₹5,000 per beneficiary through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The Subhadra Yojana is a major women-centric welfare scheme launched by the Odisha Government on September 17, 2024. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial security and empowerment to eligible women across the state.
Under this scheme:
Each eligible woman receives ₹10,000 per year
The amount is paid in two equal installments of ₹5,000
Over the full duration of the scheme, a woman can receive up to ₹50,000
The current transfer being made on January 22 is part of the annual installment cycle.
According to official data released by the state administration, more than 4.57 lakh women are expected to receive the Subhadra Yojana amount today. This includes:
Newly added beneficiaries
Women who could not receive earlier payments due to documentation or technical issues
The money is being sent directly to registered bank accounts, ensuring transparency and eliminating the need for middlemen.
The previous installment under the Subhadra Yojana was credited on August 8, 2025, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival. During that phase, nearly one crore women across Odisha received ₹5,000 each as financial assistance.
To qualify for the Subhadra Yojana, women must meet the following conditions:
Must be a permanent resident of Odisha
Age should be between 21 and 60 years
Should not be receiving ₹1,500 or more per month (or ₹18,000 annually) from any other central or state government scheme
Women already receiving higher monthly assistance from other schemes are not eligible under this program.
Eligible women can easily verify their payment status and beneficiary details online by following these steps:
