T20 World Cup 2026: Finally Bangladesh has decided not to come to India. Amidst the ongoing controversy regarding the game, Bangladesh Cricket Board has taken an important decision and decided not to play T20 World Cup in India. Let us tell you, on Wednesday ICC had given 24 hours time to Bangladesh, in which they had asked them to decide as soon as possible whether they will come to play India or not.

If their answer is no then they will be thrown out of the tournament. After ICC’s tough stance, Bangladesh has decided not to come to India. Also there has been talk of boycotting the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh boycotts playing World Cup in India

After ICC’s 24-hour ultimatum, a meeting was held with Bangladesh’s sports advisor Asif Nazrul and players in Dhaka on Thursday. In this meeting, it was decided that Bangladesh team will not tour India for the T20 World Cup and they will boycott the World Cup.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, Nazrul said," We all want to play in the World Cup. We have noted that the security threat in India has not yet gone away. The ICC has not taken a clear stand on this matter. We still have hope that ICC will find some way."

We will go back to ICC: Asif Nazrul

Taking his point further, Nazrul said, "Our concerns are absolutely right but the ICC has not listened to them. We still want to play the World Cup and we hope that the ICC will reconsider it. We will take our point back to ICC regarding playing in Sri Lanka."

Beginning of India-Bangladesh dispute

The dispute between India and Bangladesh started when Mustafizur Rahman was dropped from IPL 2026. In fact, BCCI advised Kolkata Knight Riders to immediately drop Rahman from the team. This decision was taken in view of the ongoing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Cricket Board objected to this decision.
