Dubai, 22 January 2026: Amidst the ongoing speculation regarding the upcoming T20 World Cup, everyone’s eyes were fixed on the decision of Bangladesh team whether it will come to India to play the match. ICC rejected Bangladesh’s demand and gave it 24 hours to think. Meanwhile, it seems as if the curtain has been raised on this suspense. After an important meeting between the Bangladesh Government and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in Dhaka, it has been decided that the Bangladesh team will not come to play India. Bangladesh has made it clear that their team will not participate in the T20 World Cup matches being held in India. ICC can now include Scotland in the tournament in place of Bangladesh.

The BCB President, while talking to the media after the meeting with the government, had made strong attacks on the ICC. He said, “We wanted to play the World Cup, but ICC has refused to shift our matches outside India. 20 crore people of Bangladesh have been disappointed by this decision of ICC. Cricket is now going to the Olympics, but if a country like ours does not participate there, then it will be considered a big failure of ICC.”

The Bangladeshi official made a serious allegation and said, “India is unsafe for the entire Bangladesh team. When India cannot provide adequate security to Mustafizur Rahman, how will it provide adequate security to the entire team? We cannot put the lives of our players in danger. No matter what the ICC claims, security is paramount for us.” The President of Bangladesh Cricket Board had further alleged that only the views of the Indian Cricket Board are considered in the ICC meetings. He said that the decisions taken in the ICC meeting are wrong and are only one-sided. Due to this controversy, there is a possibility of increasing political tensions in world cricket.
