Tinsukia, Jan 23: In preparation for Republic Day 2026, the Indian Army has implemented enhanced security measures by conducting a Joint Counter-Drone Capsule in Tinsukia. This initiative aims to bolster readiness against potential drone-related threats.

The event was organized by the Spear Corps and executed by the Red Shield Gunners, with significant involvement from Assam Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

This effort is part of a larger Military–Civil Fusion strategy designed to improve coordinated security responses.

Training sessions focused on joint planning, situational awareness, and inter-agency collaboration to effectively counter the increasing misuse of drones, especially during significant national events.

Participants were introduced to standard operating procedures and response protocols through organized discussions and practical demonstrations.

The exercise aimed to enhance detection, assessment, and neutralization capabilities while ensuring effective communication between civil and military entities. A key focus was on fostering a shared operational understanding to facilitate quick and coordinated responses to drone-related security incidents.

Officials noted that the capsule's goal was to improve awareness, response strategies, and collaboration among the involved agencies to tackle the challenges posed by drone misuse. Such collaborative efforts highlight the critical need for strong partnerships between military forces and civil organizations to maintain a secure environment and ensure public safety during major national events.
