Holi in Banke Bihari Temple

Holi is also played in the world famous Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan on the day of Basant Panchami. According to the tradition, on this day, after the Shringar Aarti in the temple, the serving priest of the temple starts the festival of Holi by applying Gulal tilak to Lord Banke Bihari and after that, the priests sprinkle Basanti Gulal heavily on the devotees present in the temple premises who witness this moment. After vaccination of Bihari ji, Abir Gulal is sprinkled on the devotees. This view is very pleasant.

Devotees played Holi with Thakur ji

Shortly after the formal start of Holi in Banke Bihari Temple, the atmosphere in the courtyard of the temple becomes very pleasant and only Gulal is seen here. The devotees present in the temple also enjoy this moment of playing Holi with Lord Banke Bihari and apply gulal to each other.

Holi starts in Brij from Basant Panchami

Even though there is still 40 days left for Holi to start, Holi has already started in Brij. The first day of Brij Holi is on the day of Basant Panchami. According to religious beliefs, Holi starts with the arrival of spring in Brij. There is also a tradition of burying the danda of Holi in Brij. That is why on this day, along with worshiping at various places, the celebration of Holika also begins. Flying of Gulal starts from today and this sequence continues for the next 45 days.
