T20 World Cup 2026: The ICC T20 World Cup has become bigger in 2026. Due to the insistence of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), his team is out of the tournament. At the same time, Bangladesh had refused to play their matches in India, due to which ICC has decided to expel them. Along with this, the name of the new team has also become clear. This new team will be included in Group C in place of Bangladesh in the tournament. ICC is going to announce this change in an official press release soon.

Entry of new team in T20 World Cup

Due to the insistence of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), now Scotland team is being included in the tournament. Scotland team will be part of Group C. Scotland has been selected on the basis of ICC team rankings. Scotland currently tops the teams that did not originally qualify. Scotland had faced defeat in the European qualifiers, due to which it could not qualify.

The ICC plans that the schedule of the tournament will not be changed and Scotland will be placed in Group C along with England, West Indies, Nepal and Italy in place of Bangladesh. Let us tell you, this dispute has been going on for the last few days. Citing security reasons, Bangladesh had demanded that all their group stage matches be shifted to Sri Lanka, as the tournament is being held jointly in India and Sri Lanka. The ICC had rejected this demand and given an ultimatum to BCB to confirm the participation within 24 hours. But Bangladesh did not change its decision, due to which ICC has taken this step.

Scotland team will participate for the 7th time

This will be Scotland's 7th T20 World Cup. Before this, in the last 6 editions he had played a total of 22 matches and won only 7. Apart from this, there has been defeat in 13 matches. But they are considered a strong team in the associate countries. In the year 2021 T20 World Cup, it was successful in reaching Super 12.
