U19 World Cup India U19 Beat New Zealand U19: In the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026, India's youth team has once again proved its explosive batting. Team India played the last match of the group stage against New Zealand. In this match, the Indian team managed to achieve an easy victory. New Zealand's batsmen looked helpless in front of the Indian bowlers and the team was all out on a small score. After this, the stormy innings of star batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre easily led the team to victory.
This match played in Bulawayo was played of 37-37 overs due to rain. After winning the toss, India chose to bowl first, but rain interfered in the beginning and the match was reduced to 3 overs each. The match started again, but rain once again stopped the play, due to which another 10-10 overs were reduced. After which the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and all out New Zealand for 135 runs in 36.2 overs. New Zealand's batting was very poor, where they kept losing wickets continuously. For the team, Callum Samson scored the highest unbeaten 37 runs, while Selwyn Sanjay contributed 28 runs. Apart from these, no batsman could touch the figure of 25 runs.
RS Ambareesh bowled brilliantly for India and took maximum 4 wickets. Whereas, Henil Patel took 3 wickets. The rest of the bowlers also bowled economically and restricted New Zealand to a big score. Khilan Patel, Mohammad Inan and Kanishk Chauhan had 1 success each.
The Indian team adopted an aggressive style while chasing the target. Even though Aaron George was out after scoring 7 runs in 6 balls. But after this, opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre batted stormily. Both of them made a partnership of 76 runs in just 39 balls for the second wicket, which completely changed the course of the match towards India. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 40 runs in 23 balls, which included 2 fours and 3 sixes. His strike rate was 173.91. While playing the captaincy innings, Ayush Mhatre scored 53 runs in 27 balls, in which he hit 2 fours and 6 tremendous sixes.
After this, Vihaan Malhotra scored 17 unbeaten runs and Vedant Trivedi scored 13 unbeaten runs to take the team to victory. Team India achieved this target at the loss of 3 wickets in 13.3 overs i.e. 81 balls.
