Whilst the programme concluded in 2019, it boasts a devoted following who have revisited the show numerous times. The Durrells, which initially aired in 2016, chronicles a British household who move to the Greek isle of Corfu. Following Louise's (portrayed by Keeley Hawes) husband's death and confronting financial difficulties, the family attempt to transform their existence.

The programme is loosely inspired by Louise's son Gerald's journals from his period residing on the island. Throughout the four series, the household encounters numerous obstacles from absence of electricity and contemporary drainage systems to medical crises, reports the Mirror.

The programme holds a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94% and supporters were left heartbroken when they exhausted all episodes to view.
