In this new update, users will also get the option to create a group call link. This means that you can create a link and send it to others, allowing them to easily join the voice or video call. This feature can prove to be especially useful for online meetings, family calls or office discussions.
This new feature of WhatsApp will come with cross-device support. That means people will be able to connect together from Android, iOS and Desktop in the same group call. According to reports, at least 32 users will be able to participate in a group call on WhatsApp Web, which can make it a strong alternative to platforms like Zoom and Google Meet.
WhatsApp is not only bringing calling feature but also bringing an important update for iOS users. This feature was previously available on Android. Now members joining the new group will get the facility to view old chats of the group. This prevents users from repeatedly asking for a screenshot or asking “What was going on?” There will be no need to ask.
At present WhatsApp has not announced the official launch date of this feature. However, according to reports, this update can be rolled out in the coming few weeks. Once this feature goes live, desktop users will get the long-awaited voice and video calling feature.
