On Monday, Tejashwi Yadav, the newly appointed national president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, extended his greetings for Republic Day while leveling serious accusations against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. He expressed deep concern regarding the current political and constitutional situation in the country.
Yadav took to 'X' to state that Republic Day is a sacred occasion to remember freedom fighters, constitution makers, and martyrs. He paid tribute to all the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence and the preservation of its unity and integrity.
He pointed out that the social, economic, and constitutionally questionable policies of the NDA government have led to alarming conditions in the country. Yadav remarked that instead of strengthening the constitution decades after its implementation, the current administration is taking steps that undermine democratic values.
He criticized forces that had no role in the country's freedom struggle for attacking the core spirit of the constitution. Yadav also warned that attempts to alter the preamble of the constitution pose a dangerous threat to democracy. He accused the NDA of indirectly promoting fascist ideologies, stating that the democratic framework gifted by freedom fighters is being weakened.
Yadav urged citizens to pledge to work together to maintain India's unity and integrity. He spoke of realizing the dream of a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic India, asserting that only through positive efforts can the nation progress and prosper.
