Indian-origin models walk for Matthieu Blazy’s debut chanel couture show in Paris: Their stories unfold

New Delhi: Bhavitha Mandava and Bhoomika Yadav are the two Indian-origin models to walk the runway for Matthieu Balzy’s debut at the Chanel couture show in Paris. Both models are from India, and walked the runway with confidence, gaining applause and cheers from the audience.

Indian-origin models at Chanel couture show

Bhavitha Mandava got her breakout at Balzy’s Chanel Métiers d’art 2026 New York show, which took place in a subway station. The girl from Hyderabad who left India to pursue her academics at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and later turned her passion for modelling into full time by closing the Chanel Show at Paris Fashion Week. She walked the runway in a bridal white feathered shirt and skirt combo with a matching headpiece, making everyone stare and be in awe of the moment.

Her debut for Chanel unfolded in a subway, a fitting echo of the very place where her journey began. It was in a subway station in 2024 that Bhavitha caught the eye of Showin Bishop, founder of 28 Models. Soon after, she was on a plane to Milan to meet Matthieu Blazy, then the creative director of Bottega Veneta.

What followed was a rapid ascent: a coveted spot in the brand’s Spring/Summer runway that September, followed by a global campaign the next February. After graduating in 2025, she has seamlessly transitioned into modelling full-time, stepping confidently into the international fashion circuit.

Bhoomika Yadav, a 19-year-old from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, was discovered at a young age and made her runway debut for Chanel at Paris Fashion Week. Ninjas Models shared that modelling has opened doors for her to experience things that most teenagers from Chhattisgarh would never encounter so quickly.

At the Chanel show in Paris, Bhoomika walked the runway in a beautiful beige suit featuring a cropped jacket and a pencil skirt, both detailed with delicate embroidered roses.
