The Bihar Technical Public Service Commission has opened applications for 493 Work Inspector (Mechanical) positions. Candidates who have completed at least the 10th grade can apply online starting January 31, 2026. Here are the details regarding the application process.

The commission has reopened the application window for the 493 Work Inspector (Mechanical) roles, providing another opportunity for those who missed the earlier application deadline. Candidates must have completed at least the 10th grade and hold an ITI certificate to be eligible for this recruitment. Applications lacking an ITI certificate will be deemed invalid.
The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years. The upper age limit is 37 years for the unreserved category, while unreserved women and OBC candidates can apply up to 40 years. For SC and ST candidates, the maximum age limit is 42 years. Age relaxation will be applied according to government regulations.
All applicants, irrespective of their category, are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100. There are no additional fees for any specific category.
The recruitment examination will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It will feature a total of 100 questions, with the exam carrying 100 marks. Candidates will have 2 hours to complete the test, and there will be a penalty of ¼ mark for each incorrect answer.
Selection will be based on candidates' performance in the written examination. Those who excel in the exam will have the opportunity to be selected.
Selected candidates will receive a salary according to Pay Level-2 of the 7th Pay Commission. Initially, the basic salary will be around Rs. 19,900 per month, which can increase with experience and promotions, potentially reaching up to Rs. 63,200 per month. Additionally, employees will be entitled to various government allowances, including dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and travel allowance, which will further enhance their total compensation.
