MLA Humayun Kabir, who was expelled from TMC, has taken a big decision. Now he has announced to join hands with Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM. Tomorrow he will form an alliance with AIMIM in Baharampur. However, Owaisi will not be present on this occasion. Nevertheless, this alliance is considered very important from the point of view of minority votes.
Along with this, another big political development has come to light. Before the assembly elections, a wave of defection is going on in Hooghly. Youth leader Debabrata Biswas, who was once an influential leader in Saptagram, Magra and Banshaberia areas of the district, has now returned to the ruling party of the state. After returning to TMC, he said that BJP did not accept him honestly. That is why he has returned to his old party.
BJP has taken a dig at his return to TMC. According to BJP, such leaders do not think about anything other than their self-interest. Let us tell you that Debabrata alias Debu had joined BJP in 2021. The TMC leadership is surprised by his change of party just before the assembly elections. He has been the President of Chunchura Magra Panchayat Samiti from 2013 to 2018.
TMC did not give him ticket in the 2018 Panchayat elections. Then his differences with the TMC leadership increased. His popularity was good in the politics of the district due to his public support and number of supporters. In 2021, he joined BJP and contested the Saptagram Assembly elections but lost to veteran TMC leader Tapan Dasgupta by about ten thousand votes.
While in BJP, he was made the co-convenor of Hooghly Lok Sabha. According to sources, Debu was showing inclination towards the old party for a long time. He was rarely seen in BJP programs. Recently, in a program of Shubhendu Adhikari in Magra, his distance from the district leadership of BJP became clear.
The leader of the opposition in the Assembly was stopped when he tried to enter the procession with his supporters. After this, Debu was not seen in BJP programs. It is well known that Debu was in touch with TMC. When he came to the party's executive meeting in Singur, he also tried to meet Trinamool's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. However, this meeting could not take place that day.
