The Union Budget is being presented today. People have high expectations, especially regarding the Vande Bharat sleeper train. A major announcement is expected regarding the country's first semi-high-speed sleeper train, as the first train has already started operating between Guwahati and Howrah, and the Indian Railways is thrilled with the response. Experts believe that this train is better than the semi-high-speed trains running in other countries. Therefore, India is also preparing to export this train. In light of this, an announcement to increase production is likely, which will allow for exports and enable people from smaller cities to travel on it as well.

The Vande Bharat sleeper is the first train that incorporates significant changes compared to existing premium trains. The sleeper Vande Bharat has been developed after extensive research and studying similar trains operating in several countries. The budget may include an announcement to increase the production of these trains. Production of this train is planned to be faster than that of the Vande Bharat chair car.

More than 20 Vande Bharat trains may be announced.

This budget may announce the production of around 30 Vande Bharat trains. Budgetary allocation for this is expected. These trains can be operated on long-distance routes of 1000 to 1500 km. The ministry will aim to operate sleeper Vande Bharat trains between the national capital and major cities by 2026-27, as well as between cities where Rajdhani and other premium trains are already running at full capacity. This way, people from smaller cities will also be able to travel on this train, as it will likely pass through their cities.

12 trains have already been announced
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently announced that 12 Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be operational by the end of this year. Currently, production is being done at BEML Bengaluru. However, with increased production, manufacturing will also be carried out at other coach factories.

Focus will be on 24-coach trains.
Given the growing response to the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, the railways have decided to build 24-coach sleeper Vande Bharat trains. Work has already begun in this direction. An announcement regarding this category of train may also be made in the budget, as it will allow approximately 1300 people to travel at once.
