Instead of confronting their noisy neighbours in person, a local resident decided to write them a passive aggressive note.
The handwritten complaint has been shared on Reddit - and it's fair to say it has left users divided over whether the letter seems unfair or not.
The woman's friend, who shared the post, said the handwritten letter was "hostile"and didn't go down well with the recipient.
The note read: "I write this with kindness. YOU ARE LOUD & NOISY! ALL DAY! You walk around like you're in a marching band (loud).
"Please have some AWARENESS that people live below you & around you. There is no way you should live above anyone. I can't even enjoy my place because you are LOUDDD!"
In the margin, the angry neighbour had also asked why the woman is "walking around so much".
At one point in the letter, the neighbour also complains about hearing her "dog chewing on the bone".
Interestingly, the Reddit user noted that the woman didn't even own a dog, but rather a small cat instead.
They also insisted that their friend is "very polite and light footed" and claimed she is "generally a polite and considerate person".
They added: "I told her that if it's daytime then this person needs to be reasonable. My friend is stumped about how to handle this, especially because this is the first time this person has attempted to confront her and it's already quite aggressive. What should she do?"
The post has divided Reddit users, with people taking each side of the debate. Many pointed out that those living in bottom floor flats should expect a bit of noise here and there.
The majority were on her side, with one suggesting that: "I would encourage the friend to report this to property management, as it's almost for sure going to escalate."
Another wrote: "Do not let this unstable person into the friend's home."
However, a small handful of users defended the furious neighbour. One wrote: "Just because she's petite doesn't negate her ability to walk like she has two wooden blocks strapped to her feet.
Another agreed, saying that: "I bet your friend, despite thinking she's light footed because she is petite, is one of those people who walk around stomping their heels down without noticing because its how they've always walked."
