West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is at loggerheads with the Election Commission over the issue of SIR. Mamta Banerjee reached the office of the Chief Election Commission in Delhi on Monday with a 15-member delegation. Along with Mamta, her nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee is also present. It is being told that apart from TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee, 12 have gone to the Election Commission, which includes 2 BLOs, 5 dead relatives and 5 living people who have been shown dead.
Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had reached Delhi on Sunday night on the issue of SIR regarding discrepancies in SIR and the families facing alleged torture. Meanwhile, he alleged that Delhi Police is harassing the people who had gone from Bengal. On Monday morning he visited Chanakyapuri and Bang Bhawan on Haley Road, where these families are staying. Here he raised questions on the surveillance imposed by Delhi Police around Banga Bhawan.

After meeting the Election Commission officials, CM Mamata Banerjee while talking to the media said, "I am very sad. I have been involved in Delhi politics for a very long time. I have been a minister 4 times and an MP 7 times. I have never seen such an arrogant and lying Election Commissioner. I told him that I respect your chair because no chair is permanent for anyone. One day you will have to go."
Why is Bengal being targeted?
CM Mamata Banerjee further said why Bengal is being targeted. Elections are a festival in a democracy, but you removed the names of 98 lakh people and did not give them a chance to defend themselves. After all, why is West Bengal being targeted? If the Election Commission is impartial then why SIR was not conducted in Assam. Mamta Banerjee alleges that the Election Commission Chief did not have answers to any of her questions.
