Rajpal Yadav High Court: Delhi High Court has taken a strict stand against Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav in a case related to check bounce. Expressing displeasure, the court has ordered the actor to surrender before the concerned jail superintendent by 4 February 2026 at 4 pm. The court says that Rajpal Yadav has repeatedly broken the promises given to the court and has not made payments. According to the court, such an attitude shows negligence towards the judicial process. On behalf of the court, Rajpal Yadav will have to complete the sentence given by the trial court.
In the hearing held on February 2, 2026, Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma said that Rajpal Yadav The behavior is not correct at all. The court clearly said that despite giving several opportunities and showing leniency, Rajpal Yadav has failed to pay the money to the complaining company M/s Murali Projects Private Limited. The court said that Rajpal Yadav repeatedly assured the court that he would pay the amount, but every time he did not pay on time.
During the hearing, Rajpal Yadav's lawyer sought relief from the court and said that the actor is currently busy with his professional work in Mumbai. However, the court refused to accept this argument and said that being busy with work cannot be an excuse for not obeying the court's orders. This matter is related to Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 i.e. check bounce. In this case, the trial court had already convicted Rajpal Yadav and his wife and sentenced them to 6 months simple imprisonment. Both of them had filed a petition against this in the Delhi High Court.

Earlier, on June 28, 2024, the High Court had temporarily stayed the sentence. At that time the court had said that Rajpal Yadav is not a big criminal and he wants to reach a settlement with the complainant company. For this reason the matter was sent for mediation. It was decided before the court that Rajpal Yadav would have to pay a total of Rs 2.5 crore. This amount was to be given in installments, which included Rs 40 lakh and Rs 2.10 crore. But, from June 2024 till now, the actor asked for time several times and gave assurance of payment, but did not pay the money on time every time.
The court said that till now neither Rs 40 lakh has been deposited nor Rs 2.10 crore has been paid. Even no concrete steps were taken to correct the mistakes mentioned in the demand draft. Justice Sharma said that even when Rajpal Yadav came to know about the mistake in the demand draft on December 18, 2025, he did not follow the orders of the court and only kept demanding extension of time. The court directed that the amount already deposited should be given to the complainant company. It was also ordered that Rajpal Yadav will have to surrender by February 4, 2026 so that he can complete the sentence given by the trial court. The court has fixed February 5, 2026 as the date for compliance with this order.
