Who can apply?
Applicants must have experience in TV news coverage, videography, cinematography, news gathering, or broadcast journalism. A four-wheel drive vehicle is preferred for news coverage. Additionally, it is mandatory to be a resident of the district for which the application is being made. In the case of companies, the key operating personnel must reside in the same district and will continue to reside there even after selection.

For news coverage, the applicant or firm must have the necessary equipment, such as cameras, audio equipment, and editing facilities. Proof of ownership of this equipment must be submitted at the time of the interview.

How will the selection be conducted?
The selection process will involve several stages. The first stage will be an application scrutiny, which will evaluate the candidates' eligibility and submitted documents. This will be followed by a test coverage assignment, in which selected candidates will be required to perform a news coverage task as a test.

The next stage will be an interview and document verification, which will physically verify the candidates' equipment and documents. Finally, the final selection will be made based on the test coverage, interview performance, and overall suitability.

The application fee for this recruitment process is ₹1,180 (including GST). The fee must be paid only through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of “DDO, DDK, Kolkata,” payable at Kolkata. The application fee, once submitted, will not be refunded under any circumstances.
