Advi Sesh's film Dacoit's release has been delayed in order to avoid clashing with Dhurandhar The Revenge and Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups. The Mrunal Thakur starrer will no longer release on March 19 as originally planned. The makers are avoiding a direct box office clash to give Dacoit a great run at the theaters. Dacoit makers have also announced a new release date for the film.

Dacoit to release in April, not on March 19

Since March is full of high-profile releases, the makers have moved the release date to April. In a statement, the team of Dacoit said, "At a time when March is witnessing a surge of film releases and high-profile announcements, Dacoit, an ambitious, content-led theatrical project spearheaded by Adivi Sesh has taken a thoughtful recalibration of its release strategy, keeping long-term audience engagement at the centre of the decision and is pushing it's release to 10th April."

Adivi Sesh serves as both the lead actor and co-writer of Dacoit. The film is being positioned as a story-driven project, backed by the same writing team behind Major, which was widely appreciated for its emotional depth and disciplined storytelling.

If the film would have released on the OG release date, it would clash in theaters with two of the most awaited films of the year, Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups.

The statement further read, "The makers of Dacoit hold deep respect for both films and their creative teams, and strongly believe that every theatrical release deserves its own uninterrupted space with audiences."

They added, "Staying true to that belief, the decision to revisit the release timeline stems from clarity and fairness, ensuring the film gets its rightful moment while allowing audiences to experience each film on its own terms."

About Dacoit

Directed by debutant Shaneil Deo, the film features Adivi Sesh as an inspector. The story follows two former lovers who are forced to reunite and pull off a series of robberies that end up changing their lives. Prakash Raj and Anurag Kashyap also play pivotal roles.

Speaking about the film, Adivi told Times Now that Dacoit is a modern-day Sholay, adding, “I think it’s an extremely emotionally charged and angry story. Dacoit has laughter, anger and tears—every emotion that should be there in films. The story is told from the perspective of a neo-Western.”
