Apple is considering multiple foldable designs as part of its long-term iPhone strategy. The company’s initial focus is on book-style foldable phones, often referred to as the iPhone Fold. However, Apple is also evaluating a smaller foldable phone that folds vertically, like the clamshell designs already on the market. This device is commonly known as iPhone Flip.
The report states that Apple may also make a larger, book-style foldable device in the future. It is noteworthy that the first version of iPhone Fold is said to be smaller than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, whose external display will be around 5.5 inches.
Gurman also revealed that the foldable iPad, which the company was working on earlier, is now facing problems.
According to the report, Apple’s first foldable iPhone could reach users in the latter half of 2026.
