Farmer ID: A Farmer ID has now been made mandatory for farmers. Learn how to apply for it and what documents are required.

Millions of farmers in India still depend on agriculture for their livelihood. Many of these farmers do not earn much from farming. The PM Kisan Yojana was launched to help these poor and needy farmers.

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually. To ensure that farmers receive the full benefits of these schemes, a Farmer ID has now been made mandatory. Under AgriStack, verified digital data of farmers is being prepared.

The Farmer ID acts like a digital profile for the farmer. It contains information related to land, crops, fertilizer use, animal husbandry, and income. This brings transparency to schemes like PM Kisan, fertilizer subsidies, seed distribution, and crop insurance.

To obtain the ID, some essential documents are required: Aadhaar card, Aadhaar-linked mobile number, land details, and family ID or ration card. In many places, camps are being organized at the panchayat level to assist with the application process.

For the online process, visit your state's AgriStack portal and create a new user ID. Click on "Create New User" and complete the KYC using your Aadhaar number. Agree to the terms and conditions and complete the OTP verification. Your login details will then be generated.

After logging in, fill in the necessary information in your profile. It is essential to select "Owner" under Farmer Type. This ensures that the land records are linked correctly. You can also log in using OTP. Click on "Fetch Land Detail" and enter the Khasra number and complete land details.

If you have more than one field, enter the details for all of them. Providing accurate details makes the verification process faster and easier. Finally, fill in the family ID or ration card details in the Social Registry. Select the Revenue Department under Department Approval. Give your consent and digitally sign. After this, the process of issuing the Farmer ID begins.
