Shyam Lal College Triumphs in Hockey Tournament, Advances to Semifinals

Shyam Lal College (Morning) achieved their fourth straight win in the men's division of the 12th Padma Shree Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament, securing a spot in the semifinals from Pool A. In the women's division, Vivekananda College triumphed over Bharati College with a score of 6-2, as reported in a recent announcement.


In their final league match, Shyam Lal College (Morning) defeated Shyam Lal College (Evening) with a decisive score of 5-1, finishing the league stage undefeated. Pankaj from the winning team was recognized as the Player of the Match. Notably, emerging forward Pratyush Singh Jaggi showcased an impressive performance by netting three goals. Shlok and Harsh contributed with one goal each, while Laxman scored the only goal for the losing team.

In additional matches, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College delivered a commanding performance against Amity University, winning 8-2. Manish from the victorious team was named Player of the Match. For Khalsa College, Vipin scored three goals, while Manish and Rishul each added two goals, and Manish Kumar contributed one goal. For Amity University, Mohit Rana and Agrim Raina each scored once.


Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences also secured a win, defeating SLC Alumni 6-2. Shekhar from the winning side was awarded Player of the Match. The goals for Indira Gandhi Institute came from Pulkit, Shekhar, Gurmukh, Dhruv, Arsh, and Chandrabhushan, each scoring one goal. For SLC Alumni, D. S. Jaggi and Pankaj each found the back of the net.
