CTET Admit Card 2026: The wait is almost over for candidates awaiting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 admit card from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board is expected to release the admit cards today, February 5, 2026, on the official website ctet.nic.in. This year, a record-breaking 25 lakh candidates have applied, prompting CBSE to make a major change to the exam schedule, deciding to conduct it over two days – February 7 and 8, 2026.

The CTET exam will be held in 140 cities across the country. To download the CTET 2026 admit card, details such as the application number and date of birth will be required. Following a recent Supreme Court decision, the TET has also been made mandatory for in-service teachers. This year's exam has become very important for teachers' careers and promotions. The CTET admit card will contain complete information about the examination center, shift timings, and important guidelines.

CTET 2026: Exam Dates and New Schedule
Considering the large number of applications, CBSE has decided to conduct the CTET exam over two days. Earlier, the exam was scheduled only for February 8, but now it will be held on February 7 (Saturday) and February 8 (Sunday). The exam will be conducted in two shifts:

Shift 1: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM

General Category: 60% marks (90 out of 150).
Reserved Categories (OBC/SC/ST): 55% marks (82 out of 150).

Important Instructions for CTET Exam Center
Candidates are advised to reach the examination center at least 90 minutes before the exam. All entry gates will be closed at the start of the examination time (9:30 AM and 2:30 PM). No candidate will be allowed entry after that. It is mandatory to carry a clear photocopy of your admit card and a valid photo identity proof (such as Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or Driving License).

Why is this exam important for teachers?
The main reason for the increase in the number of applicants for CTET this year is promotion and job security. As per the Supreme Court's directive, teachers who are currently teaching without having passed the TET exam must pass it within the next two years. If they fail to do so, their jobs may be at risk. This is why a large number of experienced teachers have also applied this time.
