UGC NET Result 2025: The wait is over for lakhs of candidates who appeared in the UGC NET December 2025 session. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results on its official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. This examination was conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). More than 9.93 lakh candidates had applied for the UGC NET December 2025 examination.

This examination was conducted at various centers across the country for eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). This time, a separate qualifying criterion has also been set for ‘Category-3’ (PhD admission) in the UGC NET result. Successful candidates are now eligible for teaching and research positions in top universities across the country. The NTA has declared the results of the UGC NET December session. Candidates were waiting for the final result after submitting objections to the UGC NET provisional answer key. The link is now active on the website, from where personal scorecards can be downloaded. This scorecard clearly shows the marks for Paper 1 and Paper 2 separately, along with the total percentage and your qualification status (Qualified for JRF or Assistant Professor).

How to Check UGC NET December 2025 Result?

To check the UGC NET December 2025 result, you can follow the steps given below:
Visit the official NTA portal ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Click on the ‘UGC NET December 2024 Scorecard’ link visible on the homepage.
Enter your details, such as application number and date of birth, in the login window.
Enter the security pin and click on ‘Submit’.
The result will be displayed on the screen. Save it in PDF format. UGC NET Cut-off and Subject-wise Merit List

The NTA has once again released subject-wise and category-wise cut-offs. It's worth noting that only the top 6% of candidates in UGC NET are considered eligible for Assistant Professor positions. The cut-off for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) has, as usual, been slightly higher than that for Assistant Professor. Subjects like Hindi, History, Political Science, and Commerce saw tough competition this time. Candidates can download the cut-off list according to their category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS).

E-Certificate and Next Steps
Shortly after the UGC NET results are declared, e-Certificates and JRF Award Letters will be issued to successful candidates. These documents will be available on DigiLocker and the NTA website. Candidates who have qualified for JRF can now enroll in PhD programs and avail of the central government fellowship, while those who have qualified for NET are eligible to apply directly for Assistant Professor positions in colleges across the country.
