UPSC CSE 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Civil Services Examination 2026. This time, 933 vacancies have been announced, compared to 979 vacancies last year. Online applications can be submitted on the official websites upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. Young aspirants interested in joining services like IAS, IPS, IRS, and IFS can apply until February 24th. The UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 will be conducted on May 24, 2026.

To appear for the Indian Forest Service Main Examination, candidates must qualify for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The preliminary examination for both exams is common.
What's new in UPSC CSE this time?
Candidates appearing for UPSC recruitment examinations will undergo face authentication at the examination center. This measure has been implemented to catch fraudsters. Additionally, from this year onwards, disabled candidates will be allotted their preferred center. Every disabled candidate will now receive the center of their choice.
Eligibility for UPSC Civil Services
Candidates must be graduates of a recognized university. Students in their final semester or year of graduation can also apply.
Eligibility for the Indian Forest Service Examination
For the Indian Forest Service Examination, candidates must have a graduate degree in any of the following subjects: Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology. Alternatively, they should have a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture/Forestry or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Age Limit
The age limit for the UPSC Civil Services Examination is 21 to 32 years. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per the rules.
Application Fee
The application fee for the UPSC Civil Services Examination is Rs. 100. The application is free for SC, ST, disabled, and female candidates.
