Police have registered cases against several persons for allegedly staging an unlawful protest by bringing the body of Deepthi, who died in the Nantoor accident case, to the entrance of the Kadri police station.
According to police, around 50 persons, including Amit, Keerthan, Naveeth, Bharath Raj, Pawan, Lokesh of Ballalbagh–Vivek Nagar, Mangala Devi, Manveeth of Ballalbagh, Anil Kumar of Kankanady, Premanath of Ballalbagh and others, arrived at the police station in two-wheelers and cars along with an ambulance.
At around 12 noon, the protesters allegedly parked the ambulance carrying the body across the entrance of the Kadri police station and staged a road blockade. Police officials said they repeatedly requested the protesters to disperse, explaining that such a protest was unlawful, but the group refused to comply.
The protest allegedly obstructed police duty and disrupted public vehicular movement. Based on these allegations, a case has been registered at the Kadri police station.
