Patna. Bihar government has taken an important step towards increasing the income of cattle farmers and strengthening milk production in the state. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has informed that under Seven Nishchay-3, a plan has been made to form milk production committee in every village of the state. The objective of this initiative is to provide fair price for milk to cattle farmers and strengthen the rural economy.
According to government data, out of total 39,073 villages of Bihar, milk production committees have been formed in 25,593 villages so far. Instructions have been given to the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department to form committees in the remaining villages within the next two years. This will not only organize the process of buying and selling milk, but will also reduce the role of middlemen.
Livestock farmers will get direct benefits
Through milk production committees, cattle farmers will be able to get fair and stable price for their milk. Regular collection, transparent payment system and direct access to the market are expected to increase the income of livestock farmers. Besides, the availability of milk will also increase in the state, which will also benefit the consumers.
Sudha Milk Center up to Panchayat level
The government has taken another big decision to further strengthen the dairy network. Under Seven Nishchay-3, a target has been set to open Sudha milk sales centers in all the panchayats of the state. At present, these centers have been established in 100 out of 8,053 panchayats. There is a plan to open Sudha Milk Centers in the remaining panchayats by the end of the financial year 2026-27. The operation of these new sales centers will be handed over to the Jeevika Didis associated with the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana on priority basis.
boost rural economy
The expansion of dairy industry will create new employment opportunities at the local level in the villages. People will get work in their own villages in work to milk collection, processing and sale. Along with this, regular availability of milk and milk products will be ensured, which will improve the standard of living in rural areas.
