In a heart-wrenching incident reported under the Nelamangala police sub-division, a woman committed suicide shortly after learning about the sudden demise of her husband. The deceased couple has been identified as Raju (48) and Meena (42).

Originally residents of Kunigal in Tumakuru district, the couple had been married for 20 years and lived in Jakkasandra, Nelamangala, with their son. Meena worked in a bank in Bengaluru, while Raju was employed at a private firm.

The tragedy began when Raju collapsed due to asphyxiation caused by a gas geyser leak while he was bathing at their home. Although he was rushed to a local hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

Upon receiving the news of her husband's death, a devastated Meena did not go to the hospital to see him. Instead, overwhelmed by grief, she went to a spot near their under-construction house in KG Srinivasapura and ended her life by hanging from a tree.

Emotional death note recovered

The Madanayakanahalli police, who have registered the case, recovered a death note written by Meena near the site of her suicide. In the note, she expressed her deep attachment to her husband, stating, "I cannot live for even a minute without my husband."

The note also contained instructions regarding financial settlements and a plea for forgiveness from her family. Following the post-mortem examinations, the bodies were handed over to the relatives for final rites.

Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
