Sarvam AI: While the US and China appear to be at the forefront of the world of artificial intelligence (AI), India has also emerged strongly in the AI ​​space, with India's Sarvam AI surpassing Google Gemini and ChatGPT. Bengaluru-based startup Sarvam AI is currently in the news within the global AI community. Its two innovations, Sarvam Vision and Bulbul V3, are the main reasons for this. These AI models are outperforming major global models like Google Gemini and ChatGPT in many optical character recognition (OCR) tasks.

The company's co-founder, Pratyush Kumar, claimed on X that Sarvam Vision achieved 84.3% accuracy on olmOCR-Bench, higher than Gemini 3 Pro and DeepSeek OCR v2. Similarly, it achieved 93.28% accuracy on OmniDocBench v1.5.


Sarvam AI ChartBulbul V3 Text-to-Speech Model
Bulbul V3 is a text-to-speech model that supports 35 different voices. These voice samples are taken from 22 Indian languages. The model can also handle scanned files and content of varying quality. Pratyush Kumar claims that Sarvam Vision is the best model yet in terms of Indian languages, supporting all 22 scheduled Indian languages. This series of Sarvam AI also includes a 3B-parameter state-space vision-language model. This model is capable of performing various visual tasks, such as creating image captions, recognizing text in images, understanding charts, and reading and analyzing tables.
