Chhattisgarh is a state rich in natural resources. Our aim is that Chhattisgarh should create its own unique identity in the country in the field of knowledge, technology and innovation. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the program after the important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of Chhattisgarh and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) at his residence office today.
He said that the Chhattisgarh government is continuously moving towards making the state a leader in the field of knowledge, technology and innovation. Due to modern infrastructure, effective e-governance system and investment-friendly policies, Chhattisgarh is today emerging as a reliable and attractive destination for IT, ITES and emerging technology based industries.
Chief Minister Sai said that this initiative has been taken in the direction of developing entrepreneurship among the youth and providing them world class opportunities in fields like IT and ITES within the state. Under this MoU, Center of Entrepreneurship (CoE) and Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) Center will be established in the state.
He said that through the proposed Center of Entrepreneurship, innovation and start-ups will be encouraged in four important areas like Artificial Intelligence, Forest and Medicinal Products based MedTech, Smart City Solutions and Smart Agriculture. Also, a state-of-the-art Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) center will be set up, which will provide product design, prototyping, skill development and capacity building facilities to about 30 to 40 hardware start-ups and MSMEs per year.
Describing the cooperation of a national level reputed organization like STPI as important, the CM said that STPI's extensive experience through 68 centers across the country and 24 sector-specific Centers of Entrepreneurship will take the start-up and innovation ecosystem of Chhattisgarh to new heights.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this MoU will prove to be a milestone in the economic development of the state and will give Chhattisgarh a new identity on the national map in the field of digital innovation, technological entrepreneurship and start-ups.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary of Electronics and Technology Department Mr. Ankit Anand, Director STPI Ravi Verma, CEO of CHIPS Prabhat Malik and other officials were present.
