Ingredients for Sabudana Khichdi:

  • Sabudana – 1 cup
  • Peanuts – half cup
  • Boiled potatoes – 2 (chopped)
  • Green chilli – 1-2 (finely chopped)
  • Ghee – 2 spoons
  • Cumin – 1 teaspoon
  • Rock salt – as per taste
  • Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander – to garnish

How to make Sabudana Khichdi

  • Wash the sago thoroughly and soak it in water for 5 hours or overnight.
  • Keep in mind that the sago should be soft, but not sticky.
  • Lightly roast the peanuts, cool them and grind them coarsely.
  • put aside. Heat ghee in a pan. When hot, add cumin seeds, as soon as it crackles, add green chillies and fry lightly.
  • Add chopped boiled potatoes and fry until light golden.
  • Then add soaked sago and ground peanuts. Add rock salt on top.
  • Cook the mixture on low flame while stirring for 5-7 minutes, until the sago separates.
  • Turn off the gas. Pour lemon juice over khichdi and garnish with green coriander.
