On 5 February 2026, he surrendered in Tihar Jail, Delhi. But, this was not the first time that he had to go to jail. However, the actor has recently revealed about the legal issue that he does not have the money to pay, after which the stars of the film world have come together to help him.
Rajpal Yadav Has earned a lot of name in the film world, people like his acting very much. However, the actor is creating buzz among the people. The reason for this is related to the actor's jail sentence in the check bounce case. It all started in 2010, when Rajpal took a loan of around Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Private Limited and also from the Central Bank of India to make his film Ata-Pata Lapata.
After the flop of the film, the condition of not being able to repay the loan reached such a level that all the 7 checks issued in the court bounced and the companies took legal action. Although he kept making promises to the court several times, successive delays in payments further increased his problems. But, this is not the first time that Rajpal Yadav has had to go to jail, before this he has been to jail twice and he has also revealed in many interviews what he used to do while staying in jail.

Rajpal Yadav went to jail for the first time in 2013, when he filed a fake affidavit in the court, on this charge he was imprisoned for four days. After this, in 2018, the actor was sentenced to three months imprisonment for not being able to repay the bank loan, which increased his problems. The bank also took possession of his land and house worth crores of rupees in his Shahjahanpur village. Not only this, a banner of the bank was also put on the property saying that it now belongs to the bank and cannot be sold.
In a podcast, the actor talked about his experience in jail, during which he told that when he was in jail, he used to gather groups every day. The actor told that I had taken special permission, I was lost in the workshop in the jail. Because of my workshop, people who had no desire to do anything in life started becoming happy and people who had no desire in life started acting.
