Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has received a threat via WhatsApp from unidentified individuals, police officials has confirmed.

According to authorities, the threat was sent as a voice note. Following the incident, Singh approached the police, prompting an immediate increase in security around his residence.

The threat to the ‘Dhurandhar’ actor comes just days after firing was reported outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai.

Police suspect the involvement of members linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, possibly with the intent of extortion, an official said. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has initiated an investigation into the matter.

In addition to Mumbai Police personnel, private security guards have also been deployed at the Central Mumbai housing society where the actor resides.
