How many posts will be allocated in BPSC TRE-4?
A total of approximately 44,000 teachers are proposed to be appointed in this recruitment. The class-wise distribution of posts is as follows:
Classes 1 to 8: Approximately 19,000 posts
Classes 9 to 10: 12,000 posts
Classes 11 to 12: 13,000 posts
The largest number of appointments will be in subjects where there is a severe shortage of teachers, such as mathematics, science, English, and commerce.
35% reservation for women, but the new rule applies to all
In this recruitment, women native to Bihar will receive 35% reservation, but the new rule of one candidate, one result will apply fully to women as well, meaning they will receive the benefits of reservation, but selection for more than one class level will not be possible.
What is the current teacher situation in Bihar?
Around 600,000 teachers are currently employed in Bihar, but the need is much greater. In the last two years, 2.27 lakh teachers have been recruited through TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3. Additionally, around 300,000 employed teachers have been granted government teacher status. Nevertheless, the teacher-student ratio remains unbalanced in many schools. The Education Department says that under the previous system, multiple appointments for one candidate did not address the actual shortage.
BPSC to Release Vacancies Soon
According to the Education Minister, the roster of posts has been sent to the General Administration Department. After the roster is verified, the list of actual vacancies will be sent to the BPSC. The official vacancy notification will then be issued.
Only students of these subjects will be able to fill out the TRE-4 form.
In response to a question asked in the Legislative Council (MLC), the Education Minister clarified that subject priority will be determined in the upcoming recruitment. Currently, there is a severe shortage of teachers for mathematics, science, English, and commerce in government schools. Therefore, these subjects will be prioritized in TRE-4. The Education Minister also clarified that no plans have been made to recruit teachers for physical education and music.
Major announcement for higher education
The Education Minister also provided an important update regarding the expansion of higher education in the state. He stated that degree colleges will be established in 213 blocks of Bihar from July. In blocks where college buildings are not yet ready, colleges will be operated in rented government buildings or vacant government buildings. The government's goal is to ensure that students have access to higher education within their own areas, eliminating the need to travel to other districts.
